Last night I wanted an apple. Not just any apple, but a Granny Smith apple. Sweet, green, perfect. I like to slice my GSAs thin...kind of hard to do with the knives we have. So, I decide that I wanted to use Karen's mandelin. Some of you may already know where this is heading...others are thinking, "Why is using a musical instrument to slice a GSA?". The mandelin I am speaking of is kitchen device used to slice your thumbs and fingers off...or, if you operate it PROPERLY, you would have nice thinly sliced GSAs.
So here is how it happened. Karen set up for me and said that I should use a special piece to hold the GSA...preventing finger slicing, and that it was very sharp! I'm 37 years old. I know how to be careful. One slice, two slices...ah ah ah...THREE THREE slices! AH AH AH (Of course this is best said in your best Count voice) I would do a couple slices and then move my fingers up and out of the way. One slice...two sl...$%#@!!!!! Yea...I thought I cut my thumb off. Not really sure how it happened, but I ended up slicing the side of my thumb. If I would have sliced all the way down the madelin, I would have had a nice chunk missing from my thumb. Oh yea....it bled for a long time. I started to feel queezy, so I laid down. And even today, if I bump it, it kills. So that's my bad.
My good is that we had a good crazy time as a family today. We started by seeing the movie "Marley & me". It was a very good movie. We went shopping so the kids could spend some of their Christmas money. Afterwords, we went to lunch. Baila didn't find what she wanted when we went shopping and I had to go back to return the Guitar Hero game that we gave the kids for Christmas, so we went out later. We found what she wanted at Costco...I'm now and fan...and we had a great time together...just her and I.
When we returned, Jake, Eli and I reconfigured our gaming center and assembled the new Guitar Hero.
It's been a crazy 24 hours, with one bad...and lots of good.

Just add water...
So I met the most wonderful woman in the world for me! This was many years ago and it took alot to get the whole thing going, but we did it. I never really had a strong desire to have kids of my own...so meeting Karen and kids was a great fit. Now, going from 0 to 4 kids did and still does take alot of gettin use to (see Karen's blog), but it is still all worth it. The kids have such amazing personalities which really adds to the craziness of our family. I feel I am blessed to have the life I have, despite the challenging times.
My wife is such an amazing woman. She really does alot for our family. We have mounds of laundry, dishes and general house cleaning. However, she does fall asleep on the couch in the evenings when we are winding things down. This can be frustrating because she will be talking with me one moment and then she will be asleep....like righ now! Granted it's 11:27 pm and I am getting tired, but she has been asleep for a while.
I'm really looking forward to this Christmas and February 2009. We are going to be visiting the "in-laws" (yicky term) on Christmas...hopefully I will refrain from eating too much....last time it was the best "bad" experience I've ever had. In February, I am excited that my father in law from Texas will be visiting us! The last time he was here, a couple of the kids had Chicken Pox and we couldn't do much. Hopefully this stomach flu stuff goes away quick!
Well, we have a big storm coming in tomorrow and I'm really not excited for it....need to get to bed to get up early to get to work early.
