A pre-coffee post, my apologies

WOOOHOOO! It's Christmas Eve!! This morning Monte wanted to give the kids their gifts! I am going to have to HOLD HIM BACK tonight. No presents until Christmas! That's the rules! The kids do get new pj's on Christmas Eve but nothing else. The other thing I like to do to torture everyone is make them eat breakfast BEFORE opening gifts. They can open stockings but then we have breakfast and THEN they can open. I just hate for it to go by SO FAST! I have been thinking of ways to make Christmas last longer but none of my ideas are being embraced by the kids!

We are having Monte's family over for Christmas Eve and everyone is excited. The kids have five cousins and they have so much fun together! I still have a ton to do today, but so far, I'm not stressing out!

We have had SO MUCH snow. It hasn't stopped snowing and I just can't not imagine where we will put MORE snow. It makes for a fabulous holiday but then I want it GONE!

So I have my list of things to do today and I am wondering what are you all doing tonight? What are your holiday traditions? What should I make for breakfast? (besides monkey bread, we have to have the monkey bread). Are you ready? Are you traveling or staying home? Come out and comment, the kids want to hear from you (especially Baila!)

I threw away a tradition this year and I hope the kids don't care! I have been putting chocolate oranges in the toe of the stockings for years. Well, those suckers are expensive and heavy and messy and no one eats them so this year I "forgot" to buy them. Or maybe they were all sold out. Yeah, that's it. :) Ok, time for coffee and cleaning. And keeping an eye on the dog who got into some baking chocolate when I was busy cleaning last night....oops!

We always got real oranges in the bottom of our stocking. We got some for the kids. Mike always had to drink a glass of orange juice before they could open anything. We are going to make Jonathan do that. Hopefully he does not get diarrhea. I love the pajama idea. I struggled with what traditions we wanted to start this year. We are getting the kids a special book each year from us that we are writing in and dating. Have a wonderful day and a great Christmas.
